Mortlach 16 Flora & Fauna
43% / 70cl
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Mortlach was the first of seven distilleries in Dufftown. In the 19th century farm animals kept in adjoining byres were fed on barley left over from processing. Today water from springs in the Conval hills is used to produce this delightful smooth, fruity single malt whisky.
This is a big malty dram with lots of grassy and mineral notes. There is touches of tobacco, cloves and dry sherry.
Sadly discontinued by Diageo in 2014.
