Banff 42 Year Old Single Cask Whisky
41.1% / 70cl
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Another distillery that closed in the cursed year of 1983. Banff is a distillery with a very chequered past making it one of the most desirable of the 'Lost Distilleries'. This bottle was distilled way back in 1975 before being left to mature in a single cask. 185 bottles were produced.
Nose: Shoe polish. Spicy and aromatic, hints of chalk, oranges, and pineapple
Palate: Fresh and relatively creamy, a nice combination of sweetness, soft bitterness and spices. Some lemon zest, a little herbal liqueur and chilli pepper. Hints of dried fruits, chocolate and vanilla.
Finish: Long; with sweet vanilla growing stronger besides the grassy, drier notes.
Comes in its own wooden display box.
